Supporting Agriculture &
Rural Communities

Growing up in a small agricultural community of 2,000 people taught me that farmers and ranchers are the backbone of our economy and our food security. We are living during a time where supply chains are uncertain and the pressure of large corporations weighs heavily on small, local farmers. We need leaders who understand that protecting farmland and honoring our local, rural communities matters.

The farmers and ranchers who feed us shouldn't be an afterthought in county planning. They shouldn't find out about developments impacting their water rights after the deal is done. Rural communities built Adams County, and they deserve a seat at the table when we're making decisions about its future.

When we support agricultural communities, we support all families. We preserve our heritage, strengthen our food security, protect our land, and create communities where farming and ranching can continue for generations to come.

As Your Commissioner, I will:

1

Ensure Rural Communities Have a Voice

  • Ensure rural voices are heard in county planning decisions

  • Connect farmers and ranchers to county resources, grants, and technical assistance programs

2

Protect Farmland & Fight Corporate Consolidation

  • Fight corporate pressure on local farmers and ranchers through fair land use policies and pricing protections

  • Preserve agricultural lands through smart land use policies while still promoting sustainable energy growth

3

Sustain Agricultural Heritage

  • Support farmers and ranchers with water conservation programs and implementing policies that address the high price of equipment and operation costs

  • Create pathways for the next generation to enter farming and ranching
